We are choosing the best foreign student in Poland in 2017!

Students from India, Ukraine, Sweden, Ethiopia, Morocco, Lithuania, Albania, Ghana, Canada, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Mali, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands were among the nominees for the award INTERSTUDENT 2017. The winners - the best foreign students studying in Polish universities - will be announced on 27th February. For the third time, the winner of the Most Popular Foreign Student in Poland will be selected in an open internet vote.

Ranking conference in Warsaw

Polish universities feel, they deserve a better place in international rankings. To discuss what can and should be done to improve the quality of research, rectors of best universities in the country gathered 1-2 December in Warsaw at the conference “Polish Universities in International Perspective – Rankings and Strategic Management of University” organized by Perspektywy Education Foundation jointly with the Conference of Rectors (CRASP) and Polish Accreditation Commission (PAC). Jarosław Gowin, minister of science and higher education addressed the conference and took part in the discussions chaired by Jan Szmidt, Rector of Warsaw University of Technology and President of CRASP, Wojciech Nowak, Rector of Jagiellonian University, Marcin Pałys, Rector of University of Warsaw and Waldemar Siwinski, President of Perspektywy.

The international perspective on the position of Polish universities in rankings presented representatives of the major global rankings: Ben Sowter of QS, Billy Wong ofTimes Higher Education, Isidro Aguillo of Webometrics and Perit Cakir of University Ranking of Academic Performance (URAP). Sabine Behrenbeck of the German Council of Science and Humanities and Victor Koksharov, Rector of Ural Federal University and Isak Froumin of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow shared with the Polish academic audience the neighboring countries experience in the implementation of the Excellence Initiatives.

Students from Poland can easily find how to study in Russia

(Warsaw, 14 August 2016) 68th AIESEC International Congress will happen on August, 14, 16.00-20.00 in National Museum in Warsaw. Festival of diversity aimed at exposing the most interesting elements of culture, history and traditions of 126 participating countries. In search of academic excellence

The International Conference on Excellence Initiatives took place June 30 - July 1, 2016 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The conference was organized at the initiative and by invitation of the leadership of the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100. ITMO University played the role of the conference’s host, and Perspektywy was responsible for organization and functioning of the International Speakers’ Secretariat.

Perspektywy University Ranking 2016

University of Warsaw is the winner in the Perspektywy University Ranking 2016 . Jagiellonian University in Krakow was second, and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan took the third place, followed by three best Polish technical universities Warsaw University of Technology, Wroclaw University of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology  in Cracow.Among the private schools Kozminski University again defended the title of the best private university in Poland. SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities was second and Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw third.
In addition to the overall university ranking, rankings by subjects were published covering 47 main fields of study or their groups. These rankings are of particular importance for the candidates for students as they allow to compare not just universities but also learn where the subject of choice is taught on the highest level.

How to support talents in the field of STEM- cooperation of science and business

31 May,  the conference STEM Education for Innovation, Round Table for STEM was held for the first time - partnership initiative of individuals and  institutions who are interested in the development and popularization of technical sciences, and  cooperation of the world universities with science  and the technology business. Discussions about the possibilities of exploiting the potential of young people, especially women, have proven that it is necessary to find common solutions.

Over 57 119 international students in Poland

There are 57 119 international students from 157 countries studying in Poland in 2015/16 academic year, 10.000 more than a year ago (23% increase). Currently international students make up 4.1% of the total student body in the country (ten years ago the figure was only 0.6%, in 2015 - 3.1%).

Increase of the internationalisation factor is due not only to the growing number of foreigners, but also to the decrease of the total number of students in Poland. In the academic year 2015/16 there are 1,405,133 people studying at the Polish universities – over 64,254 students fewer than in the previous year, and over 200,000 fewer than three years ago.

Perspektywy MBA Ranking 2015 (Poland)

(8 December 2015) In the 2015 Perspektywy ranking of MBA programs in Poland the "Canadian Executive MBA (CEMBA)" program of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics took the first place followed by the “emba@uw - Executive MBA” of the University of Warsaw and the “Executive MBA" by Kozminski University in Warsaw.

In the ranking process, seven groups of criteria were taken into consideration: the quality of program’s content (20%), employers’ preference (15%), alumni opinion (15%), quality of applying students (15%), quality of the teaching staff (15%), support of the teaching process (5%) and the perceived prestige of the diploma (15%). Altogether, 26 indicators were used to measure the above criteria.

Seminar for stakeholders of Perspektywy University Ranking

Close to a hundred representatives of the Polish universities attended a ranking seminar traditionally organized as a quality assurance measure by the Perspektywy Education Foundation. The seminar held at the Warsaw University of Technology on 22 July 2015 was designed to give the stakeholders a chance to listen to the authors of the Perspektywy University Ranking 2015, ask questions and discuss in detail methodology of this academic ranking.

At the seminar Gero Federkeil of CHE Centre for Higher Education (German) as a guest speaker commented on the new edition of the U-Multirank.

Jagiellonian University in Krakow and University of Warsaw win ex aequo in Perspektywy Ranking 2015

 (9 June 2015) Perspektywy Education Foundation announced the results of the Perspektywy University Ranking 2015 (Poland).

Jagiellonian University and University of Warsaw won ex aequo in the XVI Perspektywy University Ranking 2015. The third place went to Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. The further three positions are occupied by the best Polish technical universities: the fourth place ex aequo share Warsaw University of Technology and Wroclaw University of Technology, with AGH University of Science and Technology right after them in the sixth position.

Kozminski University has defended its status of the leader in the group of private-owned HEIs. Right after if – University of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS), the school that not only obtained the status of an university, but also cut the gap to the leader by half.
